Throughout my career, both in business where I was a Senior Sales Representative and Local Newspaper Owner, before moving into the Methodist Church where I was formerly a Bishop, Director of Ecumenical Affairs, and Director of Fundraising, I have endeavoured to keep the needs of others uppermost in my mind.
For this reason I have put myself through a number of carer-orientated courses including Hospice, Lifeline and FAMSA, where I freely volunteered my services. I currently volunteer two mornings a week working alongside Ceasefire Hanover Park where I use Mindfulness as my basic therapy tool.
With stress now recognised as “the epidemic of the 21st Century” by the WHO and the American Journal of Medicine estimating that between 70% and 90% of visits to the GP are stress related, it was easy to recognise that there is a crisis requiring urgent attention.
